A local favorite! Nothing beats the mini pastries or the face paced service. The restaurant itself has a lot of character with trivia questions, celebrity photos on the wall, and comments on some of the ceiling tiles. Parking is tough but worth the wait.
P.F. Chang's China Bistro
(813) 289-8400
219 Westshore Plz, Tampa, FL 33609
This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites. Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.
Royal Palace Thai Restaurant
(813) 258-5893
811 S Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606
Delicious Thai specialties in an incomparably elegant setting. A light wood interior, fish tank housing mesmerizing tropical fish, colorful tapestries, Siamese accents, and a porch that overlooks Restaurant Row. The stunning interior, fortunately, is not in keeping with the prices on the menu, which are moderate. Fresh, crisp vegetables; rich, thick sauces bursting with flavor; perfectly-spiced meats; flavorful curries. Start off with some crispy spring rolls, and move on to Tom Yum, a sumptuous coconut soup overflowing with fresh veggies. Next, order the red curry, a spicy stew of meat, bamboo shoots, baby corn and other veggies over fluffy rice. Other excellent dishes include Pad Thaisoft rice noodles with meat, crushed peanuts, and bean sprouts in a spicy peanut sauce; the Seafood Panang, a rich stew of scampi, red snapper, scallops and calamari broiled with vegetables and smothered in a delicious coconut sauce; or any one of the glazed duck dishes. If you have room, top it off with Thai fried ice cream.

(813) 962-6936
