Hillsborough County Game Works
1600 E 8TH Ave Ste A147, Tampa, FL 33605, (813) 241-9675
Escape the Ybor routine (and reality) by indulging in 128 games, full bar and great food in a $10-million social setting. Kids are welcome, but they gotta scoot on out by 10pm when it becomes an 18 and over crowd. Most of the games involve racing, shooting, sports and virtual reality but there are a few old school favorites from when we were kids.
Dine on chicken, steak, pasta and pizza at Jax Grill or grab some munchies at the Arena Bar. Finger food is fine, but you've got better dinner options elsewhere.
The Tampa GameWorks (opened Sept. 28, 2000) became the 15th location since Steven Spielberg dreamed up the concept in 1997. Other locations include Guam, Rio de Janeiro, Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. While you enjoy your gaming, eating and drinking, they play the hippest music.

Splitsville
Any preconceived notions of drab bowling alleys are instantly shattered by the hottie waiters and equally glam clientele at this alley-cum-restaurant. The decor is also kitschy-chic, with oversized bowling pin-shaped columns, red-velvet ropes and 12 pristine lanes. The four discrete bars range in style, from elegant 1940s-style to hipster retro-chic, while the six billiard tables give the place a private-club vibe.
